As an AWA certified leader, I have received intensive training in the AWA method, founded over thirty years ago by Pat Schneider, author of Writing Alone and With Others, and How the Light Gets In, Oxford University Press. I have been writing with AWA since 2013 and participated in various workshops including Costa Rica and Italy and I am very passionate about writing as a means of creative, reflective, artistic expression. My specific interests include Writing about Grief and Loss, Memoir, Retirement, Telling Our Stories ( Immigrants and Refugees ) and Writing as a Therapeutic Practice .
I have a BA in English, BEd in Secondary Education (English/ Sociology ) and a MEd in Educational Leadership. I worked in a University setting for 17 years and have certificates in Cross- Cultural Communication and Cultural Competency. (Intercultural Development Inventory (licensed Qualified Administrator). I have recently retired from a long career as an advisor and educator and am enjoying leading workshops and meeting people from all walks of life who share the love of writing!
