Thanks again for another great learning experience! If you enjoy writing but you need some expert guidance and encouragement, then Julie Snair’s writing group may be for you. Her small classes are enjoyable and promote sharing. She guides your writing experiences but you are in charge of what you write and when you share. I’ve moved from writing exercises to completing a story! Her learning materials inspire and her feedback is invaluable. Overall, a great learning experience!

Julie is a thoughtful facilitator who provides prompts that provoke reflection and offer many ways in to the writing. She values all voices and creates a safe place to explore your craft.

Julie is one of the most genuine people I know, and her authenticity shines through in her facilitation. She has a beautiful (and rare) gift of being comfortable in her own skin, and through her example, invites participants to discover the ease, grace, and pleasure of being who they truly are. Julie masterfully creates a safe space in which writers (people who dare to bring pen to paper) have what they need to brave the wilderness within and return to the white page, joyfully filling it with memory, story, insight and meaning. After a workshop with Julie, I feel fulfilled, filled up, grateful to have been truly seen and heard, and encouraged to keep my pen moving. I appreciate her knowledge of – and enthusiasm for – the craft of writing (especially memoir), as well as her clear, kind teaching style. I’ve learned a lot from her, and none of the learning felt like work. There are few people I would be as eager to spend any amount of time with as Julie, and when it comes to trusting a guide to take me on a creative adventure and bring me back in tact – Julie’s one of the best. Her sincerity of spirit is such a soothing, refreshing relief and pher delight in life, her commitment to it (all of it, the sweet stuff as well as the hard stuff) is contagious. She’s a bright light. If you get a chance to share space with her and write, take it. You’ll be smiling for days.

While Julie Snair is certainly a terrific writing instructor, I’d replace those words with ‘writing coach.’ She is engaging and enthusiastic with each person. Within a few hours of a new class, students evolve into a supportive unit, excited to learn new skills. Whether she is working with a novice or veteran writer, Julie expertly teaches the art of strong compositions, starting with identifying how to select a topic, creation of early drafts to editing the final piece. Julie is the very essence of a great teacher.
